As an agency we are only as good as the tutors we recommend, so our selection process is of a very high standard. We are aware of the importance of the professionalism of the people we send into people’s homes because they are ambassadors for Progress Tutoring.

We are a referral agency. We do not employ private tutors and there is no obligation to accept tutoring offered to you. Most tutoring requests are for one-on-one support or to help with exam preparation either after school, in your home or in the pupil’s home.

Progress Tutors is ideal for newly retired teachers who can use their wealth of experience in a one-to-one setting at a time /day to suit their new lifestyle! Graduates also benefit from the flexibility that home tutoring offers whilst enjoying the financial rewards.

We have teachers registered who, in addition to the school day, enjoy being able to give extra support after school for exam revision and exam preparation.

Our agency supports its tutors as much as it supports its students. We endeavour to put our tutors in touch with students local to the area in which they live or teach so that travel is kept to a minimum.

Being familiar with an area means that tutors and students share an empathy for and knowledge of local communities and schools. Once your registration is complete and you are offered a suitable student, Progress Tutoring will give you a detailed briefing along with the contact details of the student. You then decide whether you want to accept or not. If you do then the next step is for you to contact the student, have further discussions and then make mutual arrangements.
